And so the lonely moth foregoes its solace by the clouds
To seek your foreign majesty above each human need.
It fails and falls but higher still it forges 'gainst the breeze;
Too strong its wings are powered by a blind uncertainty.

For love unknown, for light unseen, the moth is pushed before
Its ancient drive runs dry with bitter hopes of yesterday;
Whence time forgave us not for being both this way, it swears
That one day soon or never shall it touch your angel face.

And on it flies, your patient glow -- unwavering -- its guide;
No constant pain, dear moon, suffices to give up this dream.
Pervading rhythmic time, the moth shall taste eternity
As life peels off one scab, then next, and destiny redeems.
Yay, is it really...my hundredth deviation? :la: Yes, yes it is! :D And it's...a poem about a moth flying up to the moon. o_O

Okay now, guys, ONE POINT ( :points: ) to the first person who can tell me what you call that electric thing with a purple light that attracts insects and kills it when the poor things touch the thin metal bars. Goooooo. I am serious. xD

(UPDATE -- Thanks to *InsaneSamantha for saying... It's called a Bug Zapper. HAHAHA. I really didn't know what to use in a Google search. xD)

Backstory time: I was bored, one evening in my cousin's house, even though I had schoolwork. I had left my readings (and tablet) at home, and there was nothing much to do at that time. And so I glanced up from outside their door and saw the nearly-full moon shining in all its quiet glory. Beside me was that purple-light electric thing killing mosquitos like yeah. I thought, Why don't you [insects] fly up to that wonderful light up there, the moon? It was bright enough to captivate me for like five minutes, then I finally got a grip on myself, found a pen, and drafted this poem.

(I know, my analogies just keep getting weirder. Oui? xD)

All comments and faves are appreciated!
And thank you, dear reader, for reading this piece of weirdness. xD
